COMPUTING COURSES ::
Children Courses

In response to the sign of the times and together with CITY College and other members of the ISON Educational Group, we developed an extensive programme of studies that would enable young pupils and students to develop the logical and algorithmic thinking that underlies programming and applications. This 3-year course (4-year for younger pupils) has been revised every year since its beginnings in order to keep up with the latest developments in hardware and software.

Computing levels

Younger pupils do the e-kids and e-super kids level and by-pass the e-teens level.

Currently our e-kids work - and play - with Comenius Logo, a Windows programming language that has all contemporary multimedia elements and instruments that are closer to a child's psyche. As knowledge develops, there is a gradual introduction to the secrets of the hardware - the way the computer works - and to more advanced applications and programming languages.

When students reach Certificate Class, the final year of the three or four year course - they are competent in all the standard operations in Windows, the use of the Microsoft Office 2000 package, programming in Visual Basic, retrieving and utilizing information from the Internet and they are able to design their own Web page.

By the end of the year students are fully prepared to sit the prestigious University of Oxford examination for the First Certificate in Computing (OFCC), organized exclusively through the Logos Oxford Schools.

For the keen, e-minded students, Logos Oxford has introduced three more levels in addition to its main Computing course. The e-junior level is designed especially for 8 or 9-year olds that are now given the opportunity to enter the world of computers through multi-media interface appropriate for their age. At the other end of the main course, Logos Oxford caters for the needs of those individuals who want to fully exploit the functions of Microsoft Office. Our Advanced User and Expert User levels do precisely this and combine advanced usage of the Office package and enhanced programming capability in Visual Basic.
